2 Years Old!

Livi turned 2 on Monday! I can't believe it has already been two years. She is the most wonderful little lady in the world and she makes me so happy! I didn't really feel like having a party so we ended up having a few friends over for cake and ice cream. Since Livi is obsessed with Elmo I really wanted to do an Elmo cake but there is no way I'm creative enough to do that so I once again enlisted Cecilia's help and we did it! Livi was mesmerized and just kept staring at it. I think she was a little confused when everyone kept telling her happy birthday, but she loved the presents!

Off the subject: she has learned how to unbuckle part of her car seat! :-( On a 5 point harness she can undo the part that goes across her chest. I have tried everything to get her to stop, reasoning, asking nicely, yelling louder than I ever have in my life, bribing, threatening (I asked her if she wanted a spanking and she said yes), but she loves doing it. Any suggestions?

Mother's Day

I had a wonderful Mother's Day. Saturday afternoon we headed back up to Bentwater (Cecilia's inlaw's place) where we met Cecilia, Regiane (pronounced Hejiani,) and their families. We stayed there until Sunday evening playing games and stuffing our faces. I love those people.

I also got the pictures from my birthday so here are a few:

Birthday!

My birthday was last Saturday and Phil did an excellent job of making it special. That morning I had a text message from Cecilia asking if I could bring a video game over for her husband. We were already planning on going shopping so I told her we would swing by. Phil told me that we were going out to dinner later that night so I wasn't going to shower until closer to our date. As I'm getting dressed to go to the store and to Cecilia's Phil says to me, "don't you want to shower?" I told him no I was going to wait. So he asks, "do you maybe want to put some make up on?" I of course say "why, do I look that bad?" He of course says "not at all, but what if we see someone." Anyway, I decide not to shower, only to regret that decision a few minutes later when we pulled up to Cecilia's house and there was a surprise party. Doh! Of all the days not to shower or put on makeup! Oh well. It was a wonderful party and Phil fulfilled one of my life long dreams of having a pinata. Since I didn't know about it, I didn't have my camera, but Cecilia took pictures so I will post some when I get them. Maybe. We'll see how horrendous I look.

Ahhhh...

This is what I have been doing all week...

.

My friend Cecilia's in laws have an amazing home on Lake Conroe, which is about 30 minutes away, so we have been up there everyday this week. Every time we pull up to the house I feel like I have left the country and am on some exotic vacation. My house isn't clean, and the laundry isn't done, but it is well worth it. Yesterday Phil and Cecilia and Regianes husbands left work early and came up to join us where we swam and had tacos to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. Best 5th of May ever.
